When a senior shares their life’s story, wisdom, and talents with people it’s both humbling and fascinating.
This 100-year-old woman’s story touched our hearts and brought a tear to our eyes. Eva wakes up between two and five in the morning each day and does her part in making this world a better place. She feels obliged to share her talent with others. Eva is rightfully aware that God gives us gifts to use for His glory and to share and help others with. Sharing her homemade dresses with less fortunate little girls is doing God’s work in a humble and great way.
She is truly what life as a senior should look like. She’s an active and productive happy soul, sharing her talent’s and love until the day our Lord brings her home.
She puts God’s love into action like the scriptures say in: John 13:34 I give you a new commandment:love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. Matthew 7:12 “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.[a]
Can you imagine how wonderful this world would be if all of us shared some of our talents like she does with others free of charge, giving from the goodness of our hearts? Please consider volunteering in your community. It might be as easy as spending some time with a senior who is lonely or could use a little help. Please remember that what many of us consider a small act of kindness, can mean the world to someone who is in need. Who wouldn’t love to sit down with a senior like Eva, share a cup of coffee, and drink in some of her wisdom and sweet personality? If you do so you are surely bound to come away enriched by the experience of loving your neighbor. It truly is in the act of giving that we receive so much more.
