Because of the chromosomal similarities of these natural fruit trees they can be grafted to one main tree and produce their own unique fruit. The tree has stone fruit heirloom, antique, and native species of fruit all growing on the tree.
Sam Van Aken has been growing the trees for years and has successfully grown plumbs, nectarines, apricots, peaches, and cherries. This is an exceptional way of including conservation of specific heirlooms and antique fruits into one all encompassing tree. These trees are far from cheap though as they take time to grow, and run around twenty eight thousand dollars to purchase. He has introduced almonds and it will be interesting to see how they grow on the tree as well.
