Greg Thomas was in treatment for cancer, was told he had only months to live, and his final arrangements were being taken care of. He was dealing with the painful reality of a terminal illness, and taking long walks with his dog must have helped him cope with the inevitable. He would walk by this 1856, run down Catholic Church, in the middle of a bean field in Minnesota. Daily he would feel drawn to sit, pray, and spend time with The Lord.
He decided to restore the church, and after 3 years of loving restoration work, Greg was rewarded with a blessing. Miraculously his prayers for healing were answered, and he is now in remission. To Greg restoring the church was a way of honoring God and thanking Him for his healing.
