In this world many people say things like, “why bring a baby in to this world?” With that comment I am reminded of the song by Billy Joel, “We didn’t start the fire,” that was about how this world has been a place of upheaval, and bad things have been going on since the beginning of time, we fight against it, but it will continue after us. There has never been a perfect time of peace, and prosperity for man since the Garden Of Eden. This video has a unique, and uplifting message we as a society are not getting enough of!
As parents after the initial surprise of learning we’re expecting a baby we go through stages of adjustment to having a child. It’s important not to make hasty decisions or let societies messages make our decision’s for us especially with things like the panic and fear driven thoughts of, “Oh what am I going to do, or I just cannot do this.” We also have to realize things will happen in life but not to despair, focus on the positive, things can and do get better. Our life circumstances always change, and what might not be good today can completely turn around tomorrow. This world is a place of uncertainty no doubt about it, but can you imagine if our ancestors had chosen the mindset of, “this world is just too messed up or I cannot afford to have kids.” A lot of us would not be here today, maybe you the reader, entire family lines would have died out, life was a lot harder physically, and financially hundreds of years ago, yet it did not stop them from having children.
If we listen to the messages of this world, live in fear which is a tool of the enemy, and buy into uncertainty as a reason to not have children, then we all lose! We miss out on the oceans of love and growth that babies bring into our lives. We deprive ourselves of the most incredible joy a new baby can bring into our world. The bible in Isaiah 41:10 says “Do not fear,” that message is repeated a lot. Instead we are to have faith, and believe God is with us and He is in control helping us. Every child is perfect, willed by God, has a role to fulfill, and is part of His awesome plan for our lives. Children are meant to bless us, we need to put our trust back in God!
